Hello again to all our friends! We have made it through the Fall weather and the holiday have came down on us. We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and we are hoping you have a Merry Christmas! As you know, we have shut down for the winter. We have sold all the babies that we had and it's nice to take a break from selling bunnies. We are still working on production for our show lines but that did not pan out as we hoped for. We will likely have to cancel going to Nationals in Columbus in May. Maybe next year we can plan to go! We do currently have 5 does we think will be pregnant, so we are looking forward to any babies that survive the late winter season. On a good note, have entered into the Show World! Things have shifted in our barn on what direction we want to go in due to this! We are going to be focusing heavily on a show line, and building a good show herd! That means a lot of our pet quality brood rabbits will be rehomed and some we will keep for personal pets. The pet market here is pretty good and so we have been fortunate enough to rehome most of our born babies this past year! We thank you all for taking in one of our babies to love! Show Results of Oct Ga Fall Fest Carrolton Show! In our last Blog post, we were headed off to the Oct Show. Which we met some amazing people and we had the best time! That really is the best part of the whole experience for us! We snagged a BOV and two Best of Breed's and we were so happy to have a beginners luck! Our Proud Ears Jim Bean aka "Grim" won two BOBs and our Whispering Wilds Mercedes, won Best Opposite Sex Variety. We learned so many valuable things at that show and we couldn't wait until we could go to the next one in November! Nov. - 2023 - South East Classic ShowWe went to our next show Nov. 19th and we had some high placements with the bunnies we took! Here are our results: Show A Mercedes - Placed 2nd in SSD Class (11 Shown in Class) Capone - Placed 5th in SJB Class (17 Shown in Class) Duke - Placed 13th in SSB Class (17 Shown in Class) Ragnar - Placed 12th in SJB Class (17 Shown in Class) Bent - Placed 6th in BSB Class (6 Shown in Class) Show B Mercedes - Placed 3rd in SSD Class (11 Shown in Class) Capone - Placed 11th in SJB Class (16 Shown in Class) Duke - Placed 6th in SSB Class (16 Shown in Class) Ragnar - Placed 3rd in SJB Class (16 Shown in Class) Bent - Placed 4th in BSB Class (6 Shown in Class) Show C Mercedes - Placed 3rd in SSD Class (10 Shown in Class) Capone - Placed 6th in SJB Class (13 Shown in Class) Duke - Placed 5th in SSB Class (13 Shown in Class) Ragnar - Placed 8th in SJB Class (13 Shown in Class) Bent - Placed 3rd in BSB Class (5 Shown in Class) Specialty Show Mercedes - Placed 4th in SSD Class (11 Shown in Class) Ragnar - Placed 6th in SJB Class (9 Shown in Class) Grim - Placed 4th in BSB Class (6 Shown in Class) As you can see, Judges placed each rabbit differently at each different show. That is the unique aspect of showing. What one doesn't see, another may. We welcome and will take the show judge critiques and find the middle ground in the feedback to help advance our new beginning. After this show, we got a respiratory bug that lasted 3 weeks and it was hard to stop coughing! The flu season has been no joke this year so everyone stay healthy! We are keeping our barn warm and we are settling in for a great Christmas ahead. With the cold fronts and the Christmas movies on T.V we have been able to relax our schedules a little to take a much needed breather before we head back into the coming year. Spring will be here soon enough and maybe I can get on that food garden! Oh! We have also began watching Yellowstone and getting caught up on the 5 Seasons we have thus missed! Its landscape is beautiful! Such vibrant characters too! Ill let you know how we like it in the next one!
Be Happy. Be Healthy. Praying for Gods grace on you all this holiday season. Merry Christmas! And Happy New Year Friends! -Whispering Wilds Rabbitry
