Hello again to all our friends! We have made it through the Fall weather and the holiday have came down on us. We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and we are hoping you have a Merry Christmas! As you know, we have shut down for the winter. We have sold all the babies that we had and it's nice to take a break from selling bunnies. We are still working on production for our show lines but that did not pan out as we hoped for. We will likely have to cancel going to Nationals in Columbus in May. Maybe next year we can plan to go! We do currently have 5 does we think will be pregnant, so we are looking forward to any babies that survive the late winter season. On a good note, have entered into the Show World! Things have shifted in our barn on what direction we want to go in due to this! We are going to be focusing heavily on a show line, and building a good show herd! That means a lot of our pet quality brood rabbits will be rehomed and some we will keep for personal pets. The pet market here is pretty good and so we have been fortunate enough to rehome most of our born babies this past year! We thank you all for taking in one of our babies to love! Show Results of Oct Ga Fall Fest Carrolton Show! In our last Blog post, we were headed off to the Oct Show. Which we met some amazing people and we had the best time! That really is the best part of the whole experience for us! We snagged a BOV and two Best of Breed's and we were so happy to have a beginners luck! Our Proud Ears Jim Bean aka "Grim" won two BOBs and our Whispering Wilds Mercedes, won Best Opposite Sex Variety. We learned so many valuable things at that show and we couldn't wait until we could go to the next one in November! Nov. - 2023 - South East Classic ShowWe went to our next show Nov. 19th and we had some high placements with the bunnies we took! Here are our results: Show A Mercedes - Placed 2nd in SSD Class (11 Shown in Class) Capone - Placed 5th in SJB Class (17 Shown in Class) Duke - Placed 13th in SSB Class (17 Shown in Class) Ragnar - Placed 12th in SJB Class (17 Shown in Class) Bent - Placed 6th in BSB Class (6 Shown in Class) Show B Mercedes - Placed 3rd in SSD Class (11 Shown in Class) Capone - Placed 11th in SJB Class (16 Shown in Class) Duke - Placed 6th in SSB Class (16 Shown in Class) Ragnar - Placed 3rd in SJB Class (16 Shown in Class) Bent - Placed 4th in BSB Class (6 Shown in Class) Show C Mercedes - Placed 3rd in SSD Class (10 Shown in Class) Capone - Placed 6th in SJB Class (13 Shown in Class) Duke - Placed 5th in SSB Class (13 Shown in Class) Ragnar - Placed 8th in SJB Class (13 Shown in Class) Bent - Placed 3rd in BSB Class (5 Shown in Class) Specialty Show Mercedes - Placed 4th in SSD Class (11 Shown in Class) Ragnar - Placed 6th in SJB Class (9 Shown in Class) Grim - Placed 4th in BSB Class (6 Shown in Class) As you can see, Judges placed each rabbit differently at each different show. That is the unique aspect of showing. What one doesn't see, another may. We welcome and will take the show judge critiques and find the middle ground in the feedback to help advance our new beginning. After this show, we got a respiratory bug that lasted 3 weeks and it was hard to stop coughing! The flu season has been no joke this year so everyone stay healthy! We are keeping our barn warm and we are settling in for a great Christmas ahead. With the cold fronts and the Christmas movies on T.V we have been able to relax our schedules a little to take a much needed breather before we head back into the coming year. Spring will be here soon enough and maybe I can get on that food garden! Oh! We have also began watching Yellowstone and getting caught up on the 5 Seasons we have thus missed! Its landscape is beautiful! Such vibrant characters too! Ill let you know how we like it in the next one!
Be Happy. Be Healthy. Praying for Gods grace on you all this holiday season. Merry Christmas! And Happy New Year Friends! -Whispering Wilds Rabbitry

Hello! Welcome back to our bunny blog. Bunnies being tattooed? What? You did hear correct! Rabbits have to have an ear tattoo to identify them at a rabbit show. If two people have a same breed, same sex, black rabbit - How will you know whose is whose? Tattoos are important to tell bunnies apart and to retrieve a bunny if it is lost or stolen! Here is a Video of us tattooing a bunny and you can see how the process goes! Click the Link Below: |
When I say miracle.. I don't say it lightly. We thought Quinn had miscarried her babies because she is a BIG Holland Doe. Finding two DOA we were heartbroken for her only to find that she either hadn't finished delivering, or she had hid her babies well. Days later, I was about to take her box out and I found 2 perfect little ones hiding in the front under some hay. I was overjoyed for her! These two have a special place in our hearts and will stick around a little bit. Maybe even be keepers! |
Waitlist for these Litters...
We currently have one and these babies are going fast! We aren't sure how long we will keep the waitlist going because it is a hassle to reach out and get 0 responses. If you are on the list, we will only be giving you a window of reply and if you do not get back to us, your place on the list is forfeited. Simple.
That being said, I only have a few bunnies left on these litters that are not spoken for already by word. If you are interested, reach out to us via email or FB messenger and let us know. The earlier you contact us, the better chance I will have which bunny you are looking at!
Again, We appreciate you all stopping by to check the page.
Hopefully you guys enjoy reading these posts!

Love y'all.

As we are going into pricing our litters soon, I thought I would update everyone on how it is that rabbit breeders price their rabbits. This is pretty customary for most who breed to have prices for different looks of their rabbits. I took this from another *rabbitry's page and added some things, but it explains things pretty well. (See asterisk in Notes at bottom for credit)
"Why does that bunny cost so much more than the other one?"
Part One: Pet Quality - Our Range $65-90
What does "pet quality" mean? By my definition, pet quality is a rabbit that cannot be used in a breeding program, but would still make a great pet. A pet quality rabbit may have too many genetic undesirables, such as bad toenails, brown/blue marbled eyes, creased ears, etc. Things a pet-owner won't notice. Or, a pet-quality bunny may be retired from the breeding world and ready to live the easy life. Sometimes, pet-only bunnies don't produce and are thereby useless as breeders. There are many reasons for a bunny to be considered pet-only quality, and this has nothing to do with how good a pet this rabbit will make! Pet quality bunnies are usually the least expensive ones and should not come with a pedigree, as they are not to be bred.
Part Two: Brood Quality - $100-175
"Brood quality" is a term that describes a rabbit who can be efficiently used in a breeding program, but is not showable because of a disqualification, such as too many scattered white hairs, ears overly long, slightly less than desirable type, mis-colored toenails, etc. These bunnies can still produce show-worthy offspring, however, and could be sold to another breeder. We will also sell brood and show quality rabbits as pets, but we will not sell them at a pet-only price regardless! These bunnies are potentially or proven great producers. Though they often may still sell as pets and that's perfectly fine, the buyer should be aware of why this bunny is priced higher than the above "pet-only" bunnies. If the pet-buyer wanted, he could use this rabbit in the future in a breeding program.
Part Three: Show Quality - $200-450
The "show quality" rabbits are those that have been deemed worthy of being shown by the breeder. Show quality rabbits have the best type, fur, color, etc. These rabbits may still have faults and it is advised that, before buying a rabbit of show or brood quality, you research the breed's standard. It is preferred that these rabbits, if not kept, are sold to someone who will show them. However, in the event a show quality rabbit is bought by a pet-buyer, the price will remain the same.
Here is a list of all the different Holland Lop colors currently recognized by the American Rabbit Breeders Association, as of early 2019:

Also...
~We do not discount show-quality rabbits if the buyer doesn't have the intention of showing them, nor do we discount brood-quality rabbits if the buyer doesn't have the intention of breeding them. Usually, someone else will come along who is willing to pay what we think that rabbit is worth.
~We only lower/raise the prices of our rabbits as we see fit.
~Pet, Brood and Show quality is determined by us. That means it's our opinion, and may or may not be the opinion of the judges at the rabbit shows or the opinion of other breeders. It is your responsibility to do your own research and look over the bunny yourself before buying. We will do our best to predict quality, but we are a new breeder ourselves (started in 2020) and nowhere near an expert at determining quality. If you disagree with our decision on price/quality do not purchase.
I hope this answers some of your questions more in-depth about how we price our bunnies and why. These are living, breathing animals that we take the time in learning the breed of and we LOVE them. The prices above might seem expensive to some, but if you aren't willing to pay the above prices - then the cost of an "exotic" vet, Hay, Food, Love - Patience and your time spent nurturing it, is really too much for you to have a rabbit as a pet. Quite Simple. Rabbits are a commitment like a dog or a cat - meaning for YEARS. Also, a rabbit is considered a livestock animal so this means they will poop much more than a regular animal, while this makes it seem exotic and difficult, it really isn't if you give it the same level of care you would any regular animal. Rabbits are not easy for someone who is inexperienced with any farm type animal.
PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS.

But, we are so happy to have you here reading our news again and hope you are staying happy and healthy at this near halfway point of the year 2022. With all this heat, Is it October yet?? Haha.

Five Pregnant Mommas!
Yes, Five. We were hoping to meet demand after the loss of Lola's litter. I know that her loss set back the wait but we hope with all the colors put together, we might have a color you like! I hope that the new ones also will be well worth the wait too! Thank you for all your patience and understanding. Rabbit breeding is a very neat science, not just a hobby. As we strive towards a better standard of perfection for our bunnies we produce, we are also learning as we go. It's been a great 2 years of mostly joy, but we have had some dark moments too. As we push forward, we hope that by every pair we do, we get closer to a better type and so far, it has been working! Meet our current mommas!
- Lydia/Levi - She is a Broken Black Magpie paired with a Black and Orange Harlequin. We are hoping that these babies come out colorful! At least maybe with some stripes. Expected Litter size: Undetermined
- Quinn/Grim - Both are Broken Torts and with Quinn being a big girl, we hope to up our SOP game. Expected Litter size: Undetermined
- Matilda/Cadbury - We expect chocolates! A lovely brown color, maybe white marked. Unsure about recessives as both are first time parents. Expected Litter size: Undetermined
- Hyacinth/Picasso - Our lilac girl is paired with a white ear Harlequin so we expect maybe some white ear babies. Vienna marked babies perhaps. Expected Litter size: 5-6
- Poppy/Picasso - Much like the other litter, we hope for the same outcome of white ears, but we have no idea what we will be getting with this pairing. Expected Litter size: 3-4
Rhett & Lola's Litter - May Outcomes
Rhett gave birth on the 15th of May. She had 4 babies but one was very stretched and big and one was a peanut (genetically deformed by double dwarf genes) who would perish no matter what. But two babies have lived and are flourishing just fine: A buck broken tort and a doe solid black. They are currently not for sale. We are working on better types and these kits show amazing promise from what we see. They might remain in our herd.
Lolita gave birth the next day, June 16th and she had 4 babies, but she had not pulled any hair until too late. Her babies all got cold in the night,= but we were able to save one and get it warm. However, it was a peanut and was never meant to survive. Only one of her babies might have been able to live, but didnt make it. We expected a lot from her, but Lola is 5 years old, and while she is still receptive for mating, we might try once more and if it doesn't work, retire her from having babies. She is a sweet girl but maybe no longer able to produce viable kits. A shame too because she is a beautiful typed rabbit!
Future plans for 2022
We likely will have two more pairings before the end of 2022. The last breeding will likely take place the last week of July putting the babies go home date around Halloween. That is when we usually end breeding for the year. We will not sell rabbits as Christmas gifts. So, Halloween 2022 will be the last time we have babies for the year. We take off the major family gathering holidays (Thanksgiving & Christmas) and New Year to regroup and plan our next breedings. We re-start the process mid January to have spring babies! With 5 does pregnant, we hope to have more than enough babies this summer and now is the perfect time to get you a Whispering Wilds Bunny, If I do say so myself. :) As always, we love you all. Thanks for supporting us. Be blessed and remember to stay hydrated and keep cool! That heat wave is coming y'all!

Hello Again!
It has been awhile since I wrote a blog post on here! I am hoping to catch everyone up on what has been going on around here. We had Christmas which was beautiful - my favorite time of year. Sadly, Georgia gets no snow which is a huge bummer but it was a very mild winter overall here!
We jumped right into 2022 with the breeding and put together Luna/Blizzard and Endora/Arthur and Godiva/Choc.Chip. All of the ladies did amazing!
Endora was a first time mother and while her milk production was slow to set in, and half of her babies were faders, we got 3 healthy babies which all have found homes with wonderful families. We are so happy to get to place a bunny with the right parents.
Luna had 3 beautiful big babies that were a struggle to kindle for her. I did not expect the babies to be almost bigger than her body could handle! Some TLC to the nip marks on the kits legs, and they were good as new!
Godiva was a harder story for us because she had 6 kits, and every time she would hop out, she would take a baby with her and by the time we noticed, it was too late. She also would eat on some of the babies that perished. It was the first heartbreaking loss of babies we have experienced. It's just hard because it is preventable by most costs, but if it's while you are sleeping, you just can't know when a baby is in need. I wish I could protect every baby and we TRY so hard to but it just happens, like all rabbit people will tell you. "Loss is just part of the hobby." And that is so true. From peanuts, to faders, to just bad genetics, it happens. We just raise up prayers and rejoice when we get healthy litters and most importantly - keep going through discouraging times. Luna had 3 beautiful big babies that were a struggle to kindle for her. I did not expect the babies to be almost bigger than her body could handle! Some TLC to the nip marks on the kits legs, and they were good as new!
We got some bunnies back, Nova and the two Christmas gift bunnies - Thumper Jack and Whiskers but they have been rehomed again and living great lives. We swapped two bunnies out for Nova and Miss Liv is so happy with her new babies. Nova was a handful but we got it straightened out. We also found out in this time period that Nova was a boy, not a girl as we previously thought! He was sold to a local rabbitry which bred with him and wanted to sell him without our permission or asking us first if we wanted him back. Needless to say, we did buy him back for nearly double what they paid for him, and we aren't going to let him go again for awhile. :)
We have gathered a couple new bunnies since 2021 :
Picasso - Kailey Williamson's Rabbitry, from Colorado
Eden - Murphy's Lops, from Pennsylvania
Ozzy - Murphy's Lops, from Pennsylvania
Jim B "Grim" - Proud Ears Rabbitry from New York
Rhett - Tz Bunnies from Decatur, Ga.
Noel - Mountainside Rabbitry, from Pennsylvania
Lolita - Brittney M Rutter's Rabbitry in New York

Lastly, Most of our babies are gone this time and we feel very successful that people are finding us without ads and that we have some great people who are looking out for us and dropping our information to people.
We wanted to give back and so we sent a little something to our Petco staff who have always been great to us and our puppies and has referred us to people seeking bunnies. We love them! We wanted them to know that.

Hello!
Welcome to Turkey Month! I can not believe how fast the year as gone by, but as I look out at the leaves slowly falling from the trees, I know that before long that the dormancy of winter will be here before we know it. I am looking forward to sweater weather, fireplaces and great food in the holidays coming up!
A catch up on the Rabbitry is due for November! Lets get right into it:
-We Could not attend the Autumn Harvest 2021. :( We really wanted to be able to go there and see everyone but it was a windy day and at 7am, the wind-chill was 39 degrees. I couldn't take the babies out there with it that cold! I did hear that they had a good time but it was in-fact very cold where we were to set up! The next day was beautiful and there was warm days afterwards too. Sometimes things work out like that. We are hoping to be able to do it next year with great weather! So definitely keep that in mind for Fall of 2022.
-We have some new additions that came in finally and we got to hold them and love on them! See the gallery below!
Matilda - Choc. VM - From C+D Farming Kane, PA.
Quinn- Bkn Tort - From C+D Farming Kane, PA.
Lydia- Bkn Magpie, Hoppy Tails Bunny Trails East TN
Arthur- Smoke Pearl VM - Country Farms Rabbitry Creedmoor, NC
Ellie May- Orange - Deep South Rabbitry, Mobile AL

All are doing very well. Ellie May is so very very tiny. She is 9 wks right now and she comes in at 1.14 pounds! Shes VERY SMALL!
- Moo has had her babies! Seven little thing came out and we are trying to make sure everyone gets a chance. We expect to at least lose 1 as she only has six teats and so someone will need fed manually by holding mom. We are not certain on the colors yet, but we are definitely thinking there are some otters in there, some solids and more brokens.
What is upcoming?
We are expecting the arrival of two chocolates! A buck and a proven doe. They come all the way from a gal named Kristen in SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH! How cool is that? We are getting them transported here with some help from our friend Christina at Glory Be (SLC to IA) Latrinda Anderson (IA to Omaha, NE) and our new friend Cheyenne from Olafs Polar Express (Omaha, NE to Augusta GA). We named them after chocolates! Godiva and Cadbury! (photo credits to KristenBaldwin)
We are looking forward to 2022 and all the new pairing we have lined up. We are hoping that we get out of lilacs and blacks! With all the new colors we have, 2022 we think will be colorful and bright!
As always we have babies in need of homes so share us with your friends and let people know that we have bunnies and keep an eye out on updates on the new babies. We love each and every one of you for reading this and we hope that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
PS: Is it too early to put up the tree? Haha!

Hello Hello! Wow it's been a crazy few weeks with getting the new babies all grown up and doing good. They are still looking for homes and we will be pushing them harder after Oct. 22nd when they can be picked up right away. So please share us, like us, follow us for all the updates! Tell your friends about us and get them turned on to rabbit ownership!
The nights are getting much colder here in Georgia which is a good sign fall is settling in and I have a feeling we will be in for a cold one once it does. That hasn't at all made our indoors *spoiled* bunnies pay any mind. The fur is however getting thicker in preparing for the cold! And what gorgeous coats they are after adding a bit of black oil sunflower seeds as treats. It really oils the coat and makes them super soft thanks to the simple fats they provide!
Speaking of soft coats, we have acquired 2 new older bucks from a farm in East Tennessee. A Blue eyed white named Blizzard and a Broken Chocolate called Chocolate Chip! They have gotten to know us more and more each day and we can say that they absolutely love it here! We are excited to see what they produce for us in 2022! We definitely have an eye on having some BEWs for Easter!

Aside from new herd boys, we have some Does coming too! A Chocolate Vienna Marked, Orange and a pretty broken Magpie who almost looks like a Charlie! I will get pictures of up of her tomorrow since I will be picking her up tomorrow! She comes all the way from Ithaca, Michigan! We thought she was just the cutest thing and Michigan is close to my hometown neck of the woods! Here is her baby pictures:
We also have a beauty coming from Kane, PA. She's a Chocolate VM and once she gets here, I will update with photos!
We will be getting a Doe from Mobile, AL as well. She's a beautiful Orange. We think her paired with Whispering Wilds Abraham would be amazing on starting a wideband color-story!

Also, COME SEE US in person here in Augusta, Ga. - Nov. 6th from 11am to 4pm at the AUTUMN HARVEST 2021 that is hosted by Enopion Theater Company.
It is right there off Flowing Wells Road turn on Fitzgerald Dr. You can't miss it!
It will have Outdoor vendors, Petting Zoo, Pony Rides and Food Trucks!
We will be there with our bunnies having a photo booth and would LOVE to get a goofy photo of you with one of our bunnies! I will have babies there for sale of the current litters and even if you don't want a bunny, come by and chat! We love talking about bunnies too!
So, as we finish off the 2021 breeding season, we have one litter in the works for happening next month (Moo and Coco) and then our next would likely be Luna and Blizzard for Easter babies and pair perhaps Poppy and Chocolate Chip!
Now you are all caught up on what's been happening around here in October!
Welcome to Fall Y'all!
