Our lovely girl Hyacinth has had 5 healthy babies. One didn't make it this time and became trampled in the nest. We believe he was born first and with her moving around, got caught underfoot. :( These things happen and to make things easier for Miss Moo, we fostered one of her kits over to Hyacinth to even out the teats available for both girls to ensure that everyone gets milk! We have also been checking that they have gotten fed and holding the does to feed the ones who need it - to make sure every baby makes it on our watch!
We can not wait to see what these little guys and dolls have in store color wise and personality wise. Stay turned for more updates coming as they develop!! Our Black Broken Doe named Moo has kindled yesterday morning and she had a whopping SEVEN babies! We are overjoyed and delighted at the size. We know that nature can be fickle, and while we want all 7 to be healthy, we know that some might not make it to the first week- as happens with all large litters. We are hoping that every single bunny -does- make it!
It looks like 4 brokens and 3 selfs. SO stinkin cute! We are looking forward to these little furry faces hopping around! Moo is doing wonderfully and back to her old skinnier self. If they gain her sweet licking temperament and the poppa's size, these babies will be absolute chunky treasures! Luna kindled on June 27th 2021 and gave birth to 6 kits. One was killed in the nest and five remained healthy and strong. They are Black Vienna marked (3Does/2 Bucks) and have the most beautiful blue eyes. We decided to keep one of the bucks and the rest are all up for sale. Luna was such an impressive mother being very attentive and wonderful at feeding and cleaning the babies. We are looking forward to her being a central breeding doe in the future! Poppy kindled on July 4th 2021. She had three kits and all of them survived. She had 2Does/1Buck. They grew into a Smutty Orange, a Blue Otter (Opal) and a Lilac Otter (Lynx). She had her babies as we were out to the local fireworks show! She had no issues or problems and she has been a good mother. She weaned the babies off herself. They are loveable fuzzy balls of cuteness and we love them so much!
